SHERRILL, Iowa - Lavonne L. "Bonnie" Nachtrieb, 81, of Sherrill, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, Madison, Wis.

Services will be at noon Monday, June 17, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where friends may call to celebrate Bonnie's life after 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Sherrill.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1931, in Preston, daughter of Adolph and Laurena (Yaddof) Lehmkuhl. She married Robert Nachtrieb on May 7, 1950, in Clinton; he preceded her in death on July 1, 2002.

She worked for Dubuque Community School District for 14 years.

Bonnie was a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sherrill.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading.

Surviving are her children, Carol A. (Jerre) Custer, of Linden, Wis., and Nicholas J. (Kathy) Nachtrieb, of Anamosa; four grandchildren, Tim and Neva Nachtrieb and Jessie and Joey Lewis; the newest love of her life, a great-granddaughter, Reegan Rae; a sister, Lou Ann Cassady, of Clinton; and two brothers, Leon (Mary) Lehmkuhl, of Clinton, and Larry (Darlene) Lehmkuhl, of Dellwood, Minn.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Nachtrieb, on July 21, 1978; and a brother, Lonnie Lehmkuhl.

A Lavonne L. "Bonnie" Nachtrieb Memorial Fund has been established.
