HOPKINTON, Iowa - Kevin C. Kramer, 53, of Hopkinton, died suddenly Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Hopkinton, with the Rev. John Kremer officiating. Burial will be in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the church, where there will be a parish scripture service at 1:30 p.m. The Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on June 26, 1957, in Manchester, son of Lawrence and Mildred (Goldsmith) Kramer. He married Sue Weber on June 13, 1981, in Delhi.

He owned and operated Kevin Kramer Trucking in Hopkinton since 1979 and was a 30-year member of the Hopkinton Fire Department.

Kevin was a loving husband and the best dad in the world who loved his family and friends very much. He also was a great asset to the community. Kevin was a very generous person, typically not seeking any recognition for his efforts. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Sue; three children, Matthew (Carrie Besler), of Cedar Rapids, Brittany, of Earlville, and Courtney (Jayme Digman), of Hopkinton; five sisters, Dianne (Mariano) Diaz-Miranda, of Austin, Texas, Mary (Jay) Yanda, of Hopkinton, Julie (Al) Coyle, Sheila (Jim) Tjaden and Lori (Ron) Welter, all of Monticello; six brothers, Dale (Wendy), of Baldwin, Wis., Dean (Vicki), of Sand Springs, Pat (Norma), of Peosta, Dan (Shelley), of Solon, Rick (Denise Miles) and his twin, Keith (Sherry), both of Hopkinton; his mother-in-law, Veronica Weber, of Delhi; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Wayne Weber and Margo (Rick) Bojorquez, both of Delhi, Norma Weber, Nancy (Gary) Moorehead and John (Crystal) Weber, all of Cedar Rapids, Joyce (Jim) Nehl, of St. Joseph, Mo., Tom Weber, of Prescott, Ariz., Cathy (Bob) Aldrich, of Langworthy, Roger Weber, of Seattle, Wash., Paula (John) Hargrafen, of Hopkinton, and Jayne (Kenny) Kirschbaum, of Garner; five godchildren, Joe Kramer, Megan Kramer, Maci Welter, Michelle Moorehead and Justin Hunter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, John Weber.

Memorials are preferred to Maquoketa Valley Dollars for Scholars.
