BANKSTON, Iowa - Mary Lou Engelken, 82, of Bankston, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, at her home.

Friends and Relatives may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m.

Services for Mary Lou will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at St. Clements Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa, with Rev. Michael Schueller presiding and Rev. Richard Gaul concelebrating. Burial will be held at St. Clements Cemetery in Bankston, Iowa.

Mary Lou was born September 24, 1933, in Petersburg, Iowa, daughter of William and Calista (Klaus) Goedken. She received her education from the rural schools in Petersburg, Iowa. She was united in marriage on May 24, 1956, to Elmer Engelken at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, Iowa. He proceeded her in death on March 21, 2011. They were blessed with 6 beautiful children and farmed in the Bankston area for many years. Mary Lou loved to cook and bake for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and dearly loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Mike Engelken, Randy Engelken, both of Bankston, IA, Mary Sue Wolf, of Monroe, WI, Rose (Darrell) Tucker, of Worthington, IA, Julie (Donnie) Vorwald, of Holy Cross, IA, and Jim Engelken, of Dubuque, IA; 14 Grandchildren, Matt (Melanie) Engelken, Bruce (Rachel Kintzle) Engelken, Tammy (Brad Schaul) Engelken, Kelly (Jon) Olson, Cody and Travis Wolf, Kevin, Laura, and Lisa Tucker, Sam and Luke Vorwald, Kaitlyn (Will) Simpson, Jessa and Lindsey Engelken; Four Great Grandchildren, Alex Engelken, Nicholas Kintzle, Katelyn Schaul and Brylee Engelken; Six Siblings, Norma (Vernon) Brunsmann, of Dyersville, IA, Inez (Francis) Hermsen, of Manchester, IA, Valeria Bockenstedt, of New Vienna, IA, Lavern (Patsy) Goedken, of Holy Cross, IA, Carol (Dale) Bockenstedt, of Dubuque, IA, John (Marilyn) Goedken, of Earlville, IA; Three Sisters-in-law, Germaine Goedken, Alma Brehm and Irene Engelken; Two Brothers-in-law, George (Sherry) Engelken and Cletus (Arlene) Engelken.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Three Sisters, Patty Rolfes, Stella (Leo) Demmer and Helen Wilgenbusch; One Brother, Gib Goedken; Three Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Irvin Bockenstedt, Edwin (Althea) Engelken and Julius Engelken.
