Ann C. Connolly, 98, of Dubuque Nursing and Rehab, formerly of 1395 Belmont St., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Nativity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, New Melleray. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church, where the parish rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Ann was born on Aug. 4, 1914, in Bernard, Iowa, daughter of John P. and Anna C. (Haley) Connolly. She attended Visitation Academy and was a member of the Alumni and Nativity Parish.

She was an avid reader and taught school in rural schools in Dubuque County. She then worked for Fire and Marine Insurance and the Telegraph Herald. She lastly worked at Loras College until her retirement in 1973, where she was the post office mistress.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Joan Connolly, of Bernard, and a nephew, Justin (Annette) Connolly, of Peosta, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Justin, John and Maurice; and sisters, Marie and Hellen.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Dubuque Nursing and Rehab and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Cindy and Lisa, for all their wonderful care they gave to Ann.
