Richard P. Fitzgibbons, 73, of 1805 Manson Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the Galena-Stauss Hospital, Galena, Ill.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Peosta, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave.

Mr. Fitzgibbons was a mail carrier for more than 30 years.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1929, in Dubuque, son of George and Leona (Kiefer) Fitzgibbons.

He was a longtime member of St. Columbkille's Parish. He served with the Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2665, Galena.

Surviving are two brothers, Vernon P. Fitzgibbons and Allen (Jane) Fitzgibbons, both of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George T. Fitzgibbons.
