Leota M. Kuntz, 87, of ManorCare Health Services, 901 W. Third St., formerly of St. Mary's Apartments, and Asbury, Iowa, died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2000, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Asbury (Iowa) Cemetery.

She was born on July 5, 1912, in Rock Island, Ill. daughter of George and Rose (Johnson) Krueger.

She married her first husband, A. Rex Brown, of Sunbeam, Ill., on Dec. 24, 1934. Several years after his death she married her second husband, Earl E. Kuntz, on Nov. 20, 1966, at the former Asbury United Methodist Church; he died on Nov. 8, 1969.

She was very active in the Asbury Methodist Church Women's Society; Masonic Temple, where she was past worthy high priest of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; and royal matron and past grand royal matron of the Order of Amaranth of the State of Iowa. She was a longtime member of the former Asbury United Methodist Church prior to its closing.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Linda and Zachary Lanham, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Max Krueger.

A Leota M. Kuntz Memorial Fund has been established.
