PEOSTA, Iowa - Mark T. Hoover, 54, of 14907 Route 20, Peosta, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2145 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, with Pastor Kristian Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in the Asbury (Iowa) Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth. Friends also may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Hoover was employed for 29 years at Bradley Iron Works, and most recently at Giese Mfg. Co., both in Dubuque.

He was born on March 31, 1951, in St. Louis, son of Roy and Evelyn (Truax) Hoover. He married Vicki L. Sanden on Oct. 2, 1976, in Houston, Minn.

He received his education in the La Crosse (Wis.) School for the Deaf. He also received his Print Press Operator certification at Kirkwood Community College.

He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dubuque. He also was past president of the Tri-State Deaf Club.

Surviving are his wife, Vicki Hoover, of Peosta; three children, Joey (Jessica) Hoover, of Des Moines, Cleta Hoover, of Andrew, and Ben Hoover, of Waterloo; four grandchildren; his parents, Roy and Evelyn Hoover, of St. Johns, Mich.; a brother, Tim (Diane) Hoover, of Edgewood; and two sisters, Linda (John) Brooke, of St. Johns, and Christy (Al) Ross, of Albion, Mich.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Hoover, in infancy.

A Mark T. Hoover Memorial Fund has been established.
