Pearl Becker, 85, of 2600 Mesa Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1920, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Emma (Rink) Drexel. She married William L. Becker Jr. on Dec. 2, 1939; he preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2003.

She loved to read, bowl, do ceramics, play bingo, cards and travel.

She was an easygoing, caring, thoughtful, forgiving and spiritual person.

Surviving are four sons, David W. (Laurie K.) Becker, of Hazel Green, Wis., Richard J. Becker, of Peosta, Iowa, Randall T. (Deborah) Becker, of Marion, Iowa, and Jayme A. Becker, of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; a daughter, Sandra J. McGeough, of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Meyer, of Dubuque, Dolores Burdt, of Colorado, and Luella (Keith) Goulet, of Lehigh Acres, Fla.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Florence, Louise and Lucille; and a brother, Frank.
