Mrs. Wilfred R. (Jeanette C.) Bahl, 72, 14727 Asbury Road, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 4300 Asbury Road, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Asbury, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a Resurrection Catholic Church Christian wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Bahl had worked as a record librarian at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque as a young lady prior to being married.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1924, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Julia (Schmitt) Becker. She married Wilfred R. "Bill" Bahl on April 12, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque.

She graduated from the former Immaculate Conception Academy in 1942, and then attended and graduated from the former Bayless Business College. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and its altar and rosary society, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the St. Bernadette's Catholic Mother's Study Club.

Her pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Wilfred R. "Bill" Bahl; a daughter, Marie C. (Charles) Miller, of Asbury; four sons, Jeffery J. (Janice) Bahl, Terrence G. Bahl, Wilfred R. Jr. (Vicky) Bahl and Martin J. (Linda) Bahl, all of Asbury; 18 grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice (Jerome) Meyer, of Dubuque.
