Marie Bahl, 87, of 6430 Asbury Road, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a wake service at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Bahl was employed as a waitress at Benny's Steak House.

She was born on July 29, 1918, in Weir City, Kan., daughter of John and Frances (Bocal) Spahn.

She married Bill Reynolds in 1944; he passed away in January 1967. She later married Joseph Bahl in 1968; he passed away in December 1990.

Marie loved to travel, especially to Minnesota and Phoenix, Ariz., with her husband, Joe.

She was a happy-go-lucky lover of life.

Surviving are a half-brother, Larry Spahn, of Weir City; stepchildren, Betty Allen, Charles (Shirley) Bahl and Mary (Del) O'Hea, all of Dubuque, Nita (Robert) Betts and Joseph (Susan) Bahl, both of Asbury, Iowa, and Tom (Wendy) Bahl, of Cascade, Iowa; and two stepsons-in-law, Vern Wilson, of Dubuque, and Donald DuPont, of Palatine, Ill.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold Spahn and Johnny Spahn; a sister, Elle Kukovich; and two stepchildren, Susan Wilson and Janet DuPont.

Memorials may be given to the Dubuque Humane Society.
