Olivet Cemetery. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian was born on June 1, 1916, in KeyWest, Iowa, daughter of Herman and Catherine (Schiltz) Houselog.

Lil was a proud lifelong Dubuque resident who was blessed with almost a century here in God's country. She was united in marriage to Archie Oneyear on January 31, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa. Lil was truly broken hearted when he preceded her in death on June 11, 1970, after 29 blessed years together.

She was employed as a line supervisor at the Dubuque Licorice Factory and later at the Galena Mitten and Glove Factory. Lil was a longtime and faithful member of St. Raphael's Cathedral.

She was excellent at crocheting and embroidery work and was even able to turn her hobbies into an income stream. Lil was never known to shy away from a good game of cards or Bingo and loved to go dancing when she could find a partner who could keep up with her. She loved to watch Tiger Woods play golf and was a avid Chicago Cubs fan. She was a naturally gifted conversationalist who thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with others. Lil was a kind and gentle woman who happily shared her time and talents by volunteering at many different organizations over the years. Lil was blessed with 99 years in her earthly body, but her soul and the memories of her will live on forever.

Lillian is survived by

her nieces and nephews,
LuAnn (Lawrence) Boyer,
Lawrence (Mary Lou) Feipel,
Mary (David) Winders,
Robert (Gert) Houselog, all of Dubuque;

and many, many great-nieces and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Archie Oneyear; two sisters, Selena Houselog and Florence (Clarence) Feipel; six brothers Henry, Norbert (Calista), Joseph, John, Vincent and Lawrence Houselog; and many nieces and nephews.

A Lillian C. Oneyear memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill and Hospice of Dubuque for their many kindnesses, far beyond any expectations. Cindy from Hospice and Kris and Jeana from Stonehill were only three of the loving, kind and generous angels who cared for Lil.
