Thomas J. Fangman, 80 of Dubuque, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his daughter's home in Swisher. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2015 at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost in Dubuque conducted by Rev. Kyle Digman. Family will greet friends 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 pm., Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Post #6 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.
Tom was born May 30, 1935 in Dubuque, the son of Alfred and Ann (McAllister) Fangman. He married Joann Zeal on April 11, 1959, she passed on July 5, 1998.
Tom served in the United States Airforce 1954-1957, upon returning from service, he then began working for John Deere Works in Dubuque in 1958, until retiring in 1992. Tom began his retirement job for DB & T Bank in 1995 until health forced him to retire early this year.
He was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost, the Meadows Golf Course, and Dubuque American Legion Post #6. Tom's passion were his family, golfing, and boating.
Survivors include his daughters, Pam (Tom) Crum of Swisher, Lori Fangman of Cedar Rapids, and Renee Fangman of Chicago; 2 grandchildren, Tom and Joe Crum.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings, David Fangman, Joseph, Herby, Loras Keegan, and Eileen Beckman.Memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice of Cedar Rapids or Hospice of Dubuque in Tom's memory.
