Eleanor E. Bargen, 91, of Luther Manor, formerly of 956 Indian Ridge, died at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Luther Manor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., with burial in Center Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1909, in Bad Hamburg, V.D.H., Germany, daughter of Albert and Emily Herbold. She married William Bargen on Nov. 16, 1957; he died in 1971.

She was born and raised in Germany and moved to New York City in 1937. She has lived in Dubuque since 1964.

Surviving are a daughter, Ingrid (Frederick) Jurgens, of Ellicott City, Md.; a sister, Friedel Weitzel, of Germany; two granddaughters, Pamela (Kevin) Seicke, of Perry Hall, Md., and Ellen (Frank) Potepan, of Ellicott City; a grandson, Neil (Melissa) Jurgens, of West Lake Village, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Tyler, Grant, Christopher and Alexis.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Albert.

Memorials may be given to Luther Manor and Hospice of Dubuque.
