Sharon Elizabeth (Cue) Atkins, 58, of 3170 Hillcrest Road, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at home, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hoffmann-Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Atkins worked as an office manager at Matthews Distributing Co. for several years.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1947, in Dubuque, daughter of Don and Arlene (Schoenthal) Cue.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1965, and later graduated from Dubuque Beauty Academy.

She enjoyed reading, making crafts, and spending time with family.

Sharon was an independent women who put others needs in front of her own. Family was truly most important to her.

Surviving are two sons, Keith Atkins, of Dubuque, and Dean (Megan) Atkins, of Lathrop, Calif.; two daughters, Dawn Atkins, of Dubuque, and Jodie (fianc, Kurtis Miller) Atkins, of Maquoketa, Iowa; five grandchildren, Nicole, Ashlee, Jared, Sarah, and Christine; eight brothers, David (Jackie) Cue, of Virginia Beach, Va., Steven Cue and Jeffrey (Ginger) Cue, both of Dubuque, Don (Renee) Cue, of Johnston, Iowa, Jim (Nancy) Bausch of Stuart, Iowa, Tim (Katie) Cue, of Boscobel, Wis., and Kevin (Dana) Cue and Bill (Sarah) Cue, both of Hazel Green, Wis.; four sisters, Kathy (Gary) Wild and Karen (Karl) Fleege, both of Dubuque, Laura Bauch, of Iowa, and Denise Fisher, of Iowa; former husband, Richard Atkins; father and stepmother, Donald (Karen M.) Cue; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother, Arlene (Cue) Fisher.

Thank-you to Dr. Holmes, Dr. Schultheis, the staff at Medical Associates Oncology, Sister Maureen at Mercy Hospital, and Hospice of Dubuque .
