Daniel H. Arbogast, 82, of the Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center, 2935 Kaufmann Ave., formerly of 185 S. Grandview Ave., died Sunday Nov. 4, 2001, at the center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, where there will be a flag presentation.

Mr. Arbogast worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 34 years as an industrial clerk before retiring in 1982.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1919, in Hill City, Kan., son of Daniel H. and Hattie M. (Parks) Arbogast. He married Mona Zimmer on May 30, 1947, in Dubuque.

He served our country with the Army during World War II in the South Pacific, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Asbury Road Bible Chapel, John Deere Retirees Organization, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. His hobbies include gardening and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Mona; a daughter, Sarah, of California; sons, David Arbogast, of Iowa City, and John (Cindy) Arbogast, of Ankeny, Iowa; three grandchildren, Abigail, Amos and Amissa; two sisters, Letha Crawford and Viola (Rufus) Simpson, both of Titusville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
