DEATH OF LITTLE GIRL
OCCURS SUNDAY
~
Hedwig Margaret Messink, the eleven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Messink, died Sunday morning at 9 o’clock at the family residence, 208 W. Fourteenth Street, following an illness of two weeks.

The little girl was born here and had lived here her entire life. She was a student at St. Mary’s School, where she was popular with schoolmates and teachers alike. Of a happy, bright disposition, she never failed to endear herself with those of whom she associated, and her death has brought sorrow to scores of hearts.

Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Lena and Adele, and two brothers Louis and Wilfred.

The funeral was held on Tuesday morning from the residence to St. Mary’s Church at 9 o’clock where Father Schuh was celebrant at a requiem mass. He delivered a fitting address, dwelling on the loveable and upright traits of the deceased. The students at St. Mary’s School attended the services at the church in body, and as the casket containing the remains was brought into the church, and carried out, they formed open ranks.

Mt. Calvary, where internment took place, Father Schuh also officiated. The pallbearers were all boys who attended St. Mary’s School: William Blake, Aloysius Brinkmiller, William Becker, Donald Noonan, Walter Kielez, and Harry Dehing.
