Mr. Elizabeth Metcalf, a resident of this county for nearly fifty years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Brown, of Table Mound Township, yesterday morning at 10:30 o’clock.

Mrs. Metcalf was born in Yorkshire, England, in 1822, and came to this country in 1853, settling in Benton, Wis. In the summer of the same year she came to Dubuque County, settling in Center Grove, near where she died, and has resided ever since.

She is survived by three children, Christopher, George, and Mrs. Brown. Her late husband, John Metcalf was a well known resident of that community, who died about a years ago. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at Center Grove.
