Another of Dubuque’s old settlers has joined the many other old settlers who have been taken from this community the past few days. But this time it was not after days of sickness, or even hours, but in a few minutes the apparently well body was stricken with death.

While standing in front of her home, 392 Stafford Avenue, on Wednesday evening, Mrs. Christina M. Herther fell to the sidewalk with a paralytic stroke of the heart. She was carried into the house in an unconscious condition, and remained so until her death, half an hour later.

Deceased was born in Wurtenburg, Germany, sixty five years ago, and came to America in 1854. She had been a resident of this city for thirty one years.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters, Jacob, John, Christopher and Frederick, and Mrs. C. C. Musn ?, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Fredericka.

Her husband died about seventeen years ago, and two daughters are also dead. She was a kind and loving mother, neighbor, and friend, and was highly esteemed by a large number of friends who will mourn her demise. She was a consistent and helpful member of the Zion Church.
