OLD RESIDENT IS DEAD
Mrs. Caroline Kadow Succumbs To Long Illness At Home of Her Daughter
The death of Mrs. Caroline Kadow occurred Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adam Doerr, Jr., 1737 Jackson street, after an illness extending over a period of a year. She was born June 10, 1840, in Friedland, Mecklenberg, Germany, and came to Dubuque forty years ago, where she had since lived, during which time she endured herself to all with whom she came in contact. Devoted to her home and family she raised it to the high standard of what the Christian home should be, and found her consolation and happiness in the love and affection lavished upon her by her children. She leaves to mourn her passing away three daughters, Mrs. F. Ferring, Mrs William Oswald and Mrs. Adam Doerr, Jr. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran church from where the funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
