OLD RESIDENT IS DEAD

James McCormick Expires At His Home On Dodge Street Wednesday Night

The death of James McCormick, an old resident of the First Ward, occurred at his home, 54 Dodge street, at 10 o'clock Wednesday evening, after an illness of some duration.

Mr. McCormick was a native of Ireland and was seventy years old. He emigrated to America when very young, settling in Dubuque, where the greater portion of his life was spent. For a number of years he was employed on the river and later with the William Ryan Packing Company, and in each capacity made many friends by reason of his honorable and upright character. He was a faithful Catholic, and was for many years a member of the Cathedral parish.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and five daughters. The children are Mrs. L. Jacobs of Racine, Wis., James of Colorado Springs, Mrs. J. C. McDonald, Mrs. Wm. Luthe, Misses Corneilia and Loretta and Michael, all of this city. The funeral will take place Saturday morning to the Cathedral.
