FARLEY, Iowa - Ashley A. Pins, 23, of 27161 Pins Road, Farley, was placed in God's arms on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Kennedy Road in Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 1 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1984, in Dyersville, daughter of Gerald and Julie (Chapman) Pins.

Ashley was a graduate of Western Dubuque High School in Epworth. She held high honors in the Northeast Iowa Community College nursing program while holding down two jobs, clerking at the Mercy Medical Center Emergency Room department and working at Timmerman's Supper Club. Her goal was to become a physician's assistant. She was unstoppable when she had her eye on a prize.

Ashley was a tall, slender beauty with a gorgeous head of hair. She enjoyed telling a good joke. She was a talented public speaker since childhood and was a gifted pianist. Ashley enjoyed sharing her gifts.

The world saw Ashley as a valuable player. Between work and play, Ashley touched the lives of many people. She was known for her absolute sweetness, unfailing kindness and love. She treasured her family and many friends, especially Aren Helgerson.

Ashley loved her dogs and enjoyed fishing and hiking.

She is survived by her parents, Gerald and Julie Pins, of Farley; two brothers, Spencer and Carter Pins, both at home; a very, very dear friend and soulmate, Aren Helgerson, of Dubuque; and her grandparents, Clarence and Catherine Pins and Dr. Gerald and Carmen Chapman, all of Farley.

Memorials for Ashley may be given to the Dubuque County Humane Society.
