FARLEY, Iowa - Mrs. Bernard (Mary Agnes) Mausser, 78, of 201 1st Ave. N.W., Farley, died Monday morning, July 8, 2002, on the family farm in John's Creek, rural Farley, where she was born and raised, from an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis R. Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 4:30 p.m., and a wake service at 6 p.m.

Mary Agnes was born on Dec. 25, 1923, on the family farm in rural Farley, daughter of Maurice and Anna (Phillips) Breen. She married Bernard Mausser on Oct. 28, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley.

She received her elementary education at the John's Creek country school in rural Farley, and was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School, Farley. She also attended the University of Dubuque, where she received a degree in teaching. Mary Agnes taught school for several years, and was one of the last teachers to teach at John's Creek country school. She then taught at Hazel Valley country school and later was a teacher's aide at the Western Dubuque School in Farley.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Farley, and its altar and rosary society. She was also a member of the Farley Catholic Daughters of America-Presentation Court 1460.

She was a caring and loving wife, mom and grandmother. It was her joy to continually care for her family and to be involved with her grandchildren's activities. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard Mausser, of Farley; four sons, Wayne (Linda) Mausser, of Oshkosh, Wis., Dennis Mausser and Alan Mausser, both of Farley, and Michael (friend Michelle Trafton) Mausser, of Eldora; a daughter, Lynne (Ken) Willenborg; of Colesburg; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Lisa Mausser in infancy.
