FARLEY, Iowa - Donald C. Kluesner, 71, of 303 Second Ave. SW, Farley, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Kluesner worked with Ruan Trucking for 22 years.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1934, in Farley, son of Theodore and Monica Emma (Kramer) Kluenser. He married Lois Horsfield on Oct. 10. 1959, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth.

He was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School, Farley.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society, Farley.

Don was an avid Hawkeyes and Cubs fan. He had a special interest in antique tractors and cars. He always enjoyed the company of his special companion, Pooka.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Kluesner, of Farley; two sons, Steve "Bomber" (Karen) Kluesner, of Farley, and Jeff "Smiley" (Rhonda) Kluesner, of Epworth; a daughter, Ann (Todd) Knepper, of Worthington; seven grandchildren, Brenna and Betsy Knepper, Allison, Garrett, and Anna Kluesner and Chelsea and Marissa Kluesner; and a brother, Richard Kluesner, of Farley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ann Luensmann; a sister-in-law, Henrietta Kluesner; and a brother-in-law, Elmer Luensmann.

A Donald Kluesner Memorial Fund has been established.

The family of Don would like to thank Dr. Whalen, Charlene, Kate and the staff at Tri State Dialysis, Hospice of Dubuque, Kristie Hunt, Kay Steffen and the staff of ManorCare, the community of Farley, and surrounding areas for all the kindness and support given to Don and our family through the years.
