FARLEY, Iowa -- Vincent C. Greenwood, 94, of 28057 Funke Road, Farley, died at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where the Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1915, in Farley, son of Joseph P. and Margaret (Horsfield) Greenwood. He received his education in the Farley area schools.

He married Victoria P. Heid on April 27, 1937, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville; she preceded he in death on Nov. 16, 2002. He farmed all his life in the Farley area.

Vincent always enjoyed a good game of pinochle or euchre and loved gardening. Vincent loved working the farm, especially driving the tractors and mowing the lawn.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, a member of its Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Farley Knights of Columbus Council 2001.

Surviving are two sons, Carl (Ruth) Greenwood and Vincent Greenwood Jr., both of Farley; three grandchildren, Carl (Vicki) Greenwood Jr., Terry (Heidi) Greenwood and Dawn Greenwood; three great-grandchildren, Claudia, John and Luke; two step-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Rose Greenwood, of Farley.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Greenwood; and a sister, Margaret (Elmer) Schuster.
