FARLEY, Iowa - Benjamin J. Duschner, 88, 205 Third Ave. S.W., Farley, died Monday morning, May 19, 1997, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a St. Joseph's Parish rosary at 4 p.m., a wake service at 5:30 p.m,. and the Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Duschner farmed in the rural Farley area, retiring in 1979.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1908, in Farley, son of John and Margaret (Vogel) Duschner. He married Dorothy M. Klaren on Nov. 14, 1940, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington.

He received his education in the Farley-area schools. He was a member of the Farley Senior Citizen's and St. Joseph's Parish, Farley.

Surviving are a son, Gene (Connie) Duschner, of Farley; two daughters, Sister Benjamin Grace Duschner, of Oelwein, and Dora Ann (George Jr.) Simon, of Farley; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Francis Schulte and Mary Domeyer, both of Dyersville, and Ann Beringer, of Cascade; and a nephew, Joe Dolance, of Farley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Duschner, on April 15, 1991; a grandson, Jayme Duschner, on Aug. 9, 1988; his parents; a brother, Mike Duschner; and a nephew, John Dolance.

A Benjamin J. Duschner Memorial Fund has been established.
