FARLEY, Iowa - Colleen M. Elliott, 56, of 302 Third Ave. SE, Farley, died at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at her sister Kathi's home in Farley, following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, with Pastor Margreet Ryan officiating. Private burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley, at a later date. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Colleen worked for 31 years at the former Ertl Co. in Dyersville. She then worked for three years at Lund Mfg. in Farley.

She was born on March 1, 1948, in Dubuque, daughter of Kenneth M. and Irene E. (Sommers) Elliott.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Farley.

She was a member of the Farley American Legion Auxiliary.

She loved to travel, read and make craft items. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She made a donation of her hair to Locks of Love when she was diagnosed with cancer before taking chemotherapy.

Surviving are a sister, Kathi (Anthony) Puccio, of Farley; two brothers, Steven Elliott (and Jan), of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mark "Smokey" (Ronda) Wernimont, of Dubuque; a special friend, Shirley Vogt, whom Colleen often thought of as a sister; six nieces, Mandy Puccio (and Loa), Abbie (Dan) Dossey, Kelly Puccio, Kara Puccio (and Derrick), Kalyn Wernimont and Kristin Goerdt; three nephews, Troy Wernimont (and Jill), Adam Goerdt and Shane Elliott Puccio (and Tiffani); five great-nieces, Skylar, Maggie, Emily, Hailey and Kennedy; and a great-nephew, Gage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Susan Goerdt; and her stepfather, Raymond Wernimont.

A Colleen M. Elliott Memorial Fund has been established.

The family of Colleen would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for all the wonderful care and kindness given to Colleen and her family. A special thanks goes to Dorothy, Sheila, Margreet and Amy C.
