SENECA, Wis. -- Dorothy E. Schwendinger, 61, of Seneca died Monday, June 15, 1992, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Seneca, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at St. Patrick's Church hall, Seneca, where the wake service will be said at 8 p.m.; the Beeman Patchak Funeral Home, Gays Mills, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schwendinger was a homemaker and worked at the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien, Wis.

She was born on November 19, 1930, in Dubuque, daughter of LeRoy and Bertha (Frick) Risley. She married Robert L. Schwendinger on August 7, 1948, in East Dubuque, Ill.; he died October 24, 1990.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Seneca, and its P.C.C.W. and altar and rosary societies.

Surviving are six daughters, Jean (and Patrick) Josefowicz of Lancaster, LuAnne (and Steven) Pullen of Bloomfield, Iowa, Julie (and Dave) Uebel of Racine, Janet (and Robert) Froiseth of Soldiers Grove, Mary Anne (and Michael) Haack of Rosholt and Lois (and Andre) Keller of Stitzer; five sons, Gerald (and Ann) Schwendinger of Lancaster, Daniel (and Ruth) Schwendinger of Teton, Idaho, Jeffery and Mark Schwendinger, both of Eastman, and David Schwendinger of Fort Richardson, Alaska; 21 grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Bertha Risley of East Dubuque, Ill., two sisters, Madonna Risley and Kay (and James) Bonfizi, both of East Dubuque, Ill., and two brothers, the Rev. Thomas Risley of Carpentersville, Ill., and LeRoy Risley of East Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Schwendinger.
