Herman Joseph Schwendinger, 49, East Moline, formerly of Epworth, died Tuesday at East Moline after a lingering illness.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Sanner Funeral Home, Farley. The funeral will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, Epworth. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Centralia.
He was born November 24, 1902 at Epworth, a son of John F. and Mary Deitz Schwendinger. He lived in Moline four years.
Surviving are his father in Epworth, a brother Alphonse of Epworth, a sister, Mrs. Ray (Marie) Hogan, of Worthington, 2 half brothers, John of Epworth and Henry of Ontario, Calif; and a stepbrother, Leo Steckel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his mother and his stepmother, Mrs. Clara (George) Schwendinger.
