WORTHINGTON, Iowa -- Kenneth W. Kluesner, 64, of Worthington, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 24, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Robert Gross officiating and Deacon Fred Pins assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 5 p.m.

He was born on June 22, 1945, in Dyersville, son of Fred and Mercedes (Lucas) Kluesner. He married Joanne Leick on Sept. 30, 1972, in Dubuque. Together, they farmed near Worthington. He had a passion for farming and raising and showing Brown Swiss Cattle.

Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also an avid sports fan with a particular affinity for the Green Bay Packers.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne; three children, Ryan (Sara), of Worthington, Jodi (Craig) Smith, of Bondurant, and Kelly (Ryan) Mesplay, of Strawberry Point; six grandchildren, Luke and Haley Kluesner, Payton and Kylie Smith, and Kyler and Savana Mesplay; two brothers, Gary (Ann), of Dubuque, and Kevin, of Dyersville; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Patty) Leick, of rural Cascade.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald; and a brother and sister in infancy.
