Freda Greif, 84, of Dubuque, formerly of Worthington, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in Sunnycrest Manor, Dubuque, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, by the Rev. Carl Manternach. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a Scripture service begins at 7 p.m.

Freda was born April 10, 1917, in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Peter F. and Ida (Lehmann) Greif. Freda was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and graduated from St. Paul's Elementary School.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Rogers and Betty Jane (Larry) Guilford, both of Monticello; a brother, Ivo Greif of Normal, Ill.; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rita Butzow Kennedy; and two brothers, an infant, I. Michael Greif, and Lambert Greif.

A Freda Greif Memorial Fund has been established.
