WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Mrs. Frances A. Werner, 89, of Worthington, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 1996, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m. and an altar and rosary Society rosary at 8 p.m.

Mrs. Werner was a school teacher and homemaker. She taught school in Northfork Township in the early 1930s.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1907, in Worthington, daughter of Richard and Margaret (Feltes) Sherlock. She married David J. Werner on June 12, 1933, in Worthington.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Peters, of Delhi, and Kay Loecke, of Dubuque; a son, Duane Werner, of Dyersville; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Turnis, of Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1985; six brothers, Leo, Will, Jule, Walt, Joe (her twin brother) and Albert Sherlock; three sisters, Leona Weber, Marge Harris and Rosella Gudenkauf; a son-in-law, Ivan Peters; a grandson, Brian Peters; and a great-granddaughter, Amy Peters.
