DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Robert J. Reiter, 60, of Dyersville, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a short illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, with Deacon Gerald Jorgensen officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Worthington. Friends may call after 7 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present after 9 a.m.

Mr. Reiter worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 30 years, retiring in 2002.

He was born on March 31, 1944, in Dubuque, son of Francis and Viola (Drees) Reiter. He married Karen Ann Krsek on Jan. 31, 1970, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville.

He was a member of the Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968.

He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved spending time with his granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife, Karen; a daughter, Trina (Chris) Sankot, of Fairfax; a son, Kevin (special friend, Stacey Buck), of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Sankot; a brother, Jim (Dawn) Reiter, of Moore, Okla.; three sisters, Kay (Ed) Raab, of Sussex, Wis., Mary (Jerry) Jorgensen, of Dubuque, and Lois (Ken) Olberding, of Dyersville; his stepfather, George Loecke, of Manchester; and a stepbrother, Jim (Daphne) Loecke, of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Tim Krsek.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids and to a charity of the donor's choice.
