WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Alberta Roling, 79, of Worthington, died after a short bout with cancer Saturday morning, March 23, 1996, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after noon today at Kra-mer Funeral Home, Dyers-ville, where there will be an altar and rosary society rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

She was born on April 21, 1916, in Luxemburg, daughter of John and Antonia (Roth) Welter. She married Alphonse Roling on Oct. 11, 1938, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg. Together they farmed in the Worthington area; he died on Nov. 3, 1975.

Surviving are six sons, James (Ruth) Roling, of St. Donatus, Donald Roling, and Chuck and Bob Roling, all of Worthington, Kenneth (Grace) Roling, of New Vienna, and Gary Roling, of Cedar Rapids; six daughters, Lavonne (Donald) Bries, of Dubuque, Donna (Dan) Vaske, of Worthington, Mary (Steve) Deppe, of Farley, Patty Bright, of Cedar Rapids, Kathy (Greg) Duethman, of Iowa City, and Lois (Dennis) Dietzel, of Cuba City, Wis.; 31 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren; five sisters, Lucille (Clarence) Theisen, of Monona, Marcella Boeckenstedt and Germaine (Albert) Kloser, of Dyersville, Edna Rausch, of Garnavillo, and Olive Mitchell, of Sumner; and a brother, Ralph (Anna Mae) Welter, of Holy Cross.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Roling; and a sister, Bernice Welter.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul School and Beckman High School.
