WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Ron Ostwinkle, 45, of Worthington, died after a long illness Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Ostwinkle worked for the City of Worthington Maintenance Department.

He was born on July 15, 1953, in Dubuque, son of Ernest and Del Rose (Tobin) Ostwinkle. He married Julie Fagan on Oct. 15, 1977, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston. They owned and operated the Worthington General Store.

He was a former member of the Worthington Fire Department, Jaycees and the Worthington Sportsmen Club.

Surviving are his wife, Julie; two sons, Chris and Brian, and two daughters, Abby and Ashley, all at home; his mother, Del Rose, of Worthington; four brothers, Michael (Jayne) and Darryl, both of Worthington, Dennis, of Nora Springs, and Dean (Deb), of Hopkinton; a sister, Nita (and her friend, Mark), of Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, in 1974.
