WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Bernard "Barney" Ostwinkle, 88, of Worthington, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 1998, at the Senior Home, Monticello.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 4 p.m.

Mr. Ostwinkle farmed in the Worthington area all of his life.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1909, Worthington, son of William and Agatha (Funke) Ostwinkle.

Surviving are three sisters, Margaret Ostwinkle and Dorothy (Eugene) Tobin, both of Worthington, and Katherine Ludwig, of Farley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lester "Jack," Alfred, Bill, Ernest and Leo Ostwinkle; and three sisters, Delores Ostwinkle, Marie Turnis and Lucille Ludwig.
