DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Marvin H. Olsem, 76, of Dyersville, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 137. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m. and an American Legion service at 7 p.m.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; his children, Deanne (Dave) Tobin and Denise (Jim) Ostwinkle, both of Worthington, Rick (Nancy) Olsem, of Peosta, Deb (Dan) Ament, of Dyersville, Judy (Mark) Goetschius, of Mount Vernon, David (Becky) Olsem, of Robins, Daniel (Lisa) Olsem, of South Elgin, Ill., and Jeff (Kate Weber) Olsem, of Cedar Rapids; his stepchildren, Charles (Elizabeth) Hubbard, of Denver, Kahnie (Ron Hartman) Jaeger, of Wyoming, and Susan Still of Kenosha, Wis.; 23 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laurita Combs, of Monticello, and Irene (Fred) Hoeger, of Holy Cross; two brothers, Arnold (Virginia) Olsem, of Dyersville, and Elmer (Wilma) Olsem, of Colesburg; three brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Anna; his first wife, Betty, in 1978; a sister, Mildred Petsche; and a sister-in-law.
