CASCADE, Iowa -- Marilyn J. Wolfe, 81, of 797 Whitewater Drive, Cascade, died at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

A private memorial service and burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Worthington. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade.

Marilyn was born on May 27, 1930, in Randolph, Neb., daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Burger) Nordhues.

She married Cyril N. Wolfe on Aug. 31, 1930, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington; he preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2006.

Marilyn was employed at the Fillmore Tap for several years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Fillmore, Iowa.

Surviving are eight children, Charles Wolfe, of Dension, Texas, Jill S. Wolfe (friend, Jeff Petersen), of Denver, Diane (Bob) Harris, of Dubuque, Jay Wolfe, of Cascade, Janell (Will) Klostermann, of Bernard, Colleen (Tim) Crew, of West Branch, Joan (Duane) Feltes, of Delhi, and Gina (Randy) Gadient, of Cascade; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Pat (Verna) Nordhues, of Dubuque; two sisters-in-law, Irene Nordhues, of Omaha, Neb., and Onalie Nordhues, of Norfolk, Neb.; and many Nebraska cousins.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James C. Wolfe, in 2003; a daughter-in-law, Anna Wolfe, in 2009; and two brothers, Frank and Richard Nordhues.
