WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Anthony J. "Tony" Laban, 82, of Worthington, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m. There also will be a Cascade Knights of Columbus Council 930 rosary and St. Paul Altar rosary at 5:30 p.m.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Judy Gaul, of Farley; two grandchildren, Jason Gaul, of Farley, and Michelle Gaul, of Rochester, N. Y.; three sisters, Vivian Althoff, of Earlville, Frances Kula, of Marion, and Dorothy Schafer, of Monticello; and a sister-in-law, Lucile Recker, of Rockford, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Louis Gaul; two brothers, John Jr. and Andy Laban; and a sister, Marcella Gravel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
