WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Alvina A. "Toots" Krogman, 83, of Worthington, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-Dyersville, after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m. and an Altar and Rosary Society rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
She was born on July 11, 1919, in Worthington, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Jurgens) Tobin. She married Joseph C. Krogman on Jan. 15, 1947, at St. Paul's Catholic Church; he died on Oct. 10, 1969.
She received her education in the Worthington area schools. She was a member of St. Paul's Parish.
Toots will be remembered by her family and friends as a great Cubs fan, card player and always having a joke to tell. She will greatly be missed by all that knew her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-granny Toots.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Duane) Gravel, of Dyersville; two sons, John (Susan) Krogman, of Cascade, and Kenneth (Lynne) Krogman, of Worthington; six grandchildren, Michael Krogman, Anne (Kevin) Dolphin, Jason Gravel, Jodi Krogman (friend, Randy Knapp), Greg Gravel (fiancee, Sarah Schmitt), and Amy Gravel (friend, Zac Scherrman); three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Brianna and Connor Dolphin; a brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Tobin, of Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mae Zoller and Magdelene Lehnhoff; and three brothers, Alfred, George and Vincent Tobin.
A Toots Krogman Memorial Fund has been established.
