HOPKINTON, Iowa - Helen R. Heims, 91, of Hopkinton, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Hopkinton, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, Worthington. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton, where there will be a parish vigil service at 8 p.m.

She was born on June 4, 1907, near Worthington, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Welter) Besler. She married Harry Heims in 1928; he died in February 1937.

She then married Clarence Heims on Dec. 27, 1939, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Dyersville. They farmed in the Worthington, Sand Springs and Hopkinton areas.

She received her education at St. Paul's Catholic School, Worthington, and was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and its parish guild.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Darlene Marugg, of Monticello; two sons, Lloyd (Mary Kay) Heims, of Monticello, and Jerome (Dianne) Heims, of Ryan; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Heims; her parents; and a sister, Lucille Besler.
