Mary A. Nauman, 78 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Monday June 9th, 2014 at home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. Thursday, June 12th St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 8:30a.m. Thursday at church until time of services. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born on March 6, 1936 in La Motte, Iowa the daughter of Louis and Theresa (Lenz) Roussel. She married Harold Greenwood in 1954 and he preceded her in death. She later married Alfred Nauman on June 18, 1982.

She worked at Ertl's Toy Factory, managed Eliane Powers, and then worked at Flexsteel until retirement in 2002.

She loved to sing and play music with her family, had yearly country music jams, loved to crochet, knit, cook and go to the casino.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with family and friends. Mary always went out of her way to comfort those in need around her.

She is survived by three children, Steven (Lisa) Greenwood, of Dubuque, Mark (Narumi) Greenwood, Osaka, Japan, and Tracy (Richard) Kopp, of Kenosha, WI. 9 step children, Nancy (Kevin) McCarty, Jolene (Dean) Franzen, Dan (Penny) Nauman, Jackie (Tom) Avery, Lori (Mike) Lamb, Jill Nauman, Jeff (Shelby) Nauman, Lynn (Jim) Hackman, Becky (Alan) Moore. Twenty eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her sister Geraldine (Marion) Wiest, two brothers Ray Roussel, and Gerald (Bonnie) Roussel. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Gerald (Phyllis) Nauman, Irv (Mary) Nauman, Donald (Helen) Nauman, Peggy Nauman, Donna Nauman, Darlene (Donald Schmitt) Hoerner, and Joan Nauman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Mildred (Bill) Bruck, Robert (Rita) Roussel, Dorothy (Sylvester) Welty, and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Roussel. Brothers-in-law Ronald Nauman, Melvern Nauman, and Kenneth Nauman.

In lieu of flowers a Mary A. Nauman memorial fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque especially Barb K. and Stacy, also Dr. Christine Holm, and Dr. Matthew Kirkendall, and their staff for all their wonderful care. Also to all of Mary's family especially Toby Clauer, for all their kindness and love they gave to Mary. The family would also like to express their appreciation for the musical contributions of Jay Roussel and Jim Welty.
