Clarence J. Palen, 98, loving husband, brother and uncle, passed away August 27, 2006. Clarence was born on February 29, 1908 in Caledonia, Minnesota to Frank and Florence Nicks Palen.

He married Virginia Clair Graff in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1939.

Clarence was a member of the Catholic Church. He attended Marquette University and worked for Western Electric Telephone Co. as an installation supervisor. He lived in many of the Midwest and Western states while with Western Electric.

He and Virginia made lifelong friends in every place they lived. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and remembered seeing Babe Ruth play. He and Virginia raised championship Dachshunds and traveled to many dog shows for competition.

Many nieces and nephews survive Clarence. Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; brothers, Cyril Palen, Julius Palen, Victor Palen; sisters, Marcella Dennison, Beatrice Palen and Dolores Hengstenberg.

Funeral Mass Friday, September 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church 624 West Lennox St. (7825 So.) Midvale, Utah. Visitation at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Mount Calvary Cemetery.
