Mrs. Ray Hogan

WORTHINGTON -- Mrs. Ray (Marie) Hogan, 51, Worthington, died Monday morning at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, after a lingering illness.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Scanner Funeral Home, Farley. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. The cortege will leave Farley at 9 a.m.

Mrs. Hogan was born February 9, 1905, at Epworth, a daughter of John and Mary Dietz Schwendinger. She was married to Ray Hogan on October 4, 1926, at St. John's Church, Placid. They lived in Farley for two years after their marriage, and have since resided in Worthington.

She was a member of St. Paul's Church, and of the Alter and Rosary Society of the parish.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Madonna) Wolfe and Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Digman, both of Worthington, and Mrs. Marvin (Patricia) Gassman, Dickeyville, Wis.; two sons, James Hogan in service, and Robert Hogan, at home; one brother, Alphonse Schwendinger, Epworth; a step-brother, Leo Steckel, Cedar Rapids, Ia.; two half brothers, Henry Schwendinger, Ontario, Calif. and John Schwendinger, Jr., Epworth and 10 grandchildren.
