D.D. Provost

DUBUQUE, Oct. 22 --D.D. Provost, a prominent citizen, dropped dead this evening. Years ago he was one of the most prominent civil engineers in the West. Ub 1851 he had charge of the construction of the Illinois Central from Dixon to Dubuque. Wherever placed he was always found to be qualified with skill and energy. He amassed a handsome fortune which he has enjoyed free from business cares for many years.
