Deceased Name: NOEL A. MENARD

BELLEVUE, Iowa - Col. Noel A. Menard, 87, of 402 N. Third St., Bellevue, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Phil Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Reveille Post 273 of Bellevue. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, where there will be a scripture service at 6 p.m.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1912, in Kankakee, Ill., son of Victor A. and Eva Saint Germain Menard. He married Vivian O'Neil on July 15, 1939, in Manila.

He graduated from West Point Academy in 1937. He served in the Army infantry during World War II and the Korean conflict, retiring in 1963. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian, of Bellevue; two daughters, Laura (Kent) Wielage, of Dubuque, and Deborah (Joey) Locke, of Pulaski, Tenn.; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
