OBITUARY

Miss Annie Richey died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at the Visitation academy, where she had been a pupil for nearly three years. About four months ago she was taken sick, but the attack was not at the time regarded as serious. Later her s\disease assumed a more malignant form and despite the best of medical treatment and the most careful treatment and the most careful nursing by the good sisters, she gradually grew worse until death ended her sufferings.

Left an orphan some years ago, her guardian desiring that she should receive a thorough training, placed her with the Sisters of the Visitation. She was a close student, bright and cheerful of disposition and gentleness itself. Surrounded by the good sisters and her school companions and with her sister bending over her, she gently closed her eyes and her spirit winged its flight to the world beyond.

She is survived by one sister and two brothers. Her sister is a member of the Order of the Visitation, Sister Mary Angela. One brother, George, is in Lincoln, Illinois, and another brother, Edward, is attending school at Notre Dame, Indiana. Among her relatives in Dubuque are Mrs. M. Duggan, Seminary Hill and W. J. and John F. Burns.

May she rest in peace.
