Harold J. Weydert

Harold J. Weydert, 88, of ManorCare Health Services, formerly of 19727 Pilot Grove Road, Peosta, Iowa, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, July 2, 1999, at ManorCare.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Dubuque, with burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Centralia, Iowa. (rest of paragraph omitted.)

Mr. Weydert farmed his entire life in Peosta.

He was born on April 23, 1911, in Peosta, son of William and Josephine (List) Weydert. He married Marie Breitbach on Sept. 14, 1938, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peosta; she died June 28, 1993.

He served on many boards, including the Maquoketa Valley Rural Electrical Coop, Dubuque County Farm Bureau and the Dubuque County Fair Board. He was also a 4-H leader and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic church.

Surviving are four sons, Ronald (Gae) Weydert, of East Moline, Ill., Gerry (Mary McDermott) Weydert, of Dubuque, Richard (Margo) Weydert, of Peosta, and Roger (Mary) Weydert, of Dubuque; two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Lambert, of Helena, Mont., and Kathy (Jim) Luckritz of Dubuque; eight grandchildren, Lori, Scott, Amy, Greg, Chris, Emily, Tyler and Katie; six step-grandchildren, Jamie, Jay, Eric, Luke, Samantha and Robert; six great-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild; two brothers, the Rev. Donald Weydert, of Dubuque, and Robert (Rita) Weydert, of Dubuque; and a sister, Helen Weydert, of Dubuque.

He also was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn on Feb. 9, 1998, and Anne Marie on Dec. 19, 1950; and four brothers, Frank, Bill "Jake", Elmer and Ralph.
