Helen L. Tegeler

Helen L. Tegeler, 100, 5170 Asbury Road, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on April 26, 1897 in Quincy, Ill., daughter of Bernard and Mary (Timmerwilke) Heming. She married Ed Tegeler Sr. on Oct. 19, 1920, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Dyersville, Iowa; he died July 7, 1980.

She was a member of Resurrection Parish and enjoyed gardening and baking. Her family was very important to her.

Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy (Al) Kloft and Helen (Bob) Molo, both of Dubuque, and Pat McFadden, of Marshalltown, Iowa; 18 Grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Sister Myrna Heming of La Crosse, Wis., and Frances Menke, of Quincy.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Ed Tegeler Jr., on Nov. 16, 1992.

Memorials may be given to Padra Pio Fund, Stonehill Care Center and Resurrection Catholic Church.
