Services for Kenneth J. Hefel, 56, of 2724 Linda Court will be at noon Thursday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Hefel worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 30 years before his retirement in October 1988.

He was born Sept. 14, 1933 at North Buena Vista, IA, son of George and Emma (Errthum) Hefel. He died Monday, Nov. 6, 1989 at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

Preceded in death by first wife Jayne E. Hefel on 9 Jul 1982. He married Patricia Lesch on Sept 14, 1985. She survives. He was an Army veteran.

Also surviving are:
Three sons: Jeff of Winona, Min., Dave of Des Moines and Kevin at home.
Three stepsons: David Cahill of prophetstown IL, Mark Cahill of Burlington, VT, and Joseph Cahill of Ames IA.
Three stepdaughters: Mrs. Kevin (Deborah) McGrath of Denver, Diane Nauman of Dubuque and Mrs. David (Nancy) Crow of Tampa, FL; one grandchild and 10 step-grandchildren
His mother, Mrs. George (Emma) Hefel of Dubuque
Three brothers: Lyle, Jerome and Richard Hefel all of Dubuque
Four sisters: Mrs. Irene Haupt of North Glenn, CO, Mrs. Michael (Marilyn) Nitz of Rancho Palos Verde, CA, Mrs. Keith (Donna) Reid of Rockford IL. and Grace Cushing of Janesville, WI.
