Katherine M. Behnke

Services for Mrs. Martin C. (Katherine M.) Behnke, 92, of Dubuque Health Care Center, formerly of Route 1, Durango, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, where the wake service will be said at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Behnke was a homemaker.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1898, in Durango, Iowa, daughter of John and Mary (Breitbach) Krug. She died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 1991, at the Care Center.

She married Martin C. Behnke on Nov. 17, 1924, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill, Iowa; he died Jan. 16, 1973.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter M. (Marie) Kutsch and Mrs. Richard A. (Marita C.) Heim, both of Dubuque; a son, Alfred J. (and Loretta) Behnke of Durango, Iowa; 28 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Magdalena "Lena" Behnke of Dubuque, Miss Veronica, Miss Ann and Miss Mary Krug, all of Durango; and three brothers, Alfred Krug of Dubuque, and Joseph and Frank Krug, both of Durango.

A Mrs. Katherine M. Behnke Memorial Fund has been established.
